Q. How do I change the address to the EPTZ1000?
A. The camera’s ID address can only be changed by changing the values on dipswitch SW1. Remember to only change these switches while the camera is powered off.
Q. Why can I not control the camera when it is set to Pelco protocol?
A. First make sure that all connected devices are using the same protocol and baud rate. In the DVR or the Keyboard menu, change the PTZ ID to one higher than what the camera is actually set at. (For example, if the camera is set as ID: 002, you would change it to 003 in the Keyboard or DVR)
Q. How do I know what firmware version I have on the EKB500?
A. Unplug the power to the keyboard and plug it back again, it will then show the version on the LCD display.
Q. Which wires does the EKB500 use to control the camera?
A. On a standard CAT5 network cable, the keyboard uses pins 3 (+) and 6 (-) for data transmission.
Q. Why does the camera go to an old position after putting in a new one?
A. First you need to delete the position you wanted to overwrite. To delete, hold down Clr + Position, then press the position number, then press Enter. Remember, the EKB500 must be set to CAM option in order to delete any position.
Q. How should I connect the power to the EKB500?
A. You can use either the connection on the back of the keyboard or you can also use the power connection that comes from the included data box. Either one will provide power, but do not use both at the same time.
Q. How do I connect multiple cameras to the EKB500?
A. To add more than one camera on a single port, you will need to branch each additional camera from the main wire. DO NOT connect multiple cameras to one point.
Q. How many tours I can set on an EKB500?
A. One EKB500 can set up to maximum of 16 tours.
