Q. I have enabled the covert settings but why can I still see the cameras after exiting the menu?
A. The DVR is still in the logged in under the Admin level. Please log out.

Q. The schedule is enabled but why is the DVR not recording?
A. Schedule recording needs to be enabled in the Record settings of the Record & Play menu. Please make sure that the Schedule Record box is checked.

Q. Why am I only seeing four menu settings when pressing the menu button? The available settings are View, Display, Sequence and Monitor.
A. The DVR is displaying the menu for the call monitor. Please choose the Monitor icon and it will display the main monitor settings.

Q. How does the built in calculator work?
A. Based on the camera and record settings, you will get an estimated time in days when the amount of activity in hours for a camera is determined. The DVR records in MPEG4 compression and it records the amount of movement in a picture. For example, a DVR recording during business hours only will be set to 8 hours of motion.

Q. How do I rearrange camera positions in a multiscreen view?
A. Set the display on the desired multiscreen view. Highlight the camera position to be changed. Press the menu button and choose the Channel option (icon with an arrow facing right and an arrow facing left). Then choose a camera to be displayed in the highlighted position and press enter.

Q. What is the lock option in the DVR?
A. Lock option comes up in a few settings. Each camera has an event option with auto lock.
1) The Disk setting has a Maximum Lock percentage setting.
2) An Event search will allow you to lock certain events. The lock option will prevent chosen events from being deleted when deleting the hard drives. A Disk Format will delete locked events.

Q. What ports need to be forwarded on the router to be able to view remotely?
A. The default port is http port 80.

Q. How many times can I zoom in the video?
A. There is only a 1X 25% zoom possible during live.

Q. Is the external hard drive for recording or archiving?
A. The eSATA port is for recording only. It will be recognized as hard drive number 5 since the first 4 hard drive slots are reserved for the internal hard drives. Only an eSATA interface will be recognized. An EverFocus 4 hard drive eSATA interface disk array unit is in development.
