Q: How does lens size affect distance and field of view?
A: A smaller lens value will show a shorter viewing distance and a wide field of view. A larger lens value will allow for a longer viewing distance but a narrower field of view.

Q: What are the different lens options?
A: All of our cameras are offered with multiple lens selection, ranging from 2.5 to 16mm, and the EQ cameras offer completely interchangeable lenses between 3.5 and 50mm.

Q: Why is the camera output too bright (washed out) or too dark?
A: If the image is too bright then the iris is opened too much. Lower the Level adjustment setting by turning it counter-clockwise. If the image is too dark then the iris not opened enough and the Level adjustment setting should be raised.

Q: Why is there moisture inside the dome of the EHD series?
A: When the temperature lowers, the rubber ring inside the conduit screw can contract, leaving space for air to get through. Take care to properly and thoroughly coat this area with silicone or other sealant. The silica gel pack included with the camera should be left in the dome to absorb any other latent moisture.

Q: Why is the EHD camera not powering up?
A: At power up, the internal heater self-tests for 15 seconds and requires a total of 920mA to function. Check to make sure you have sufficient current from the power supply.

Q: Why are there squiggly lines across the screen of all the cameras?
A: If you are using an AC power supply, the camera voltages need to be in phase. To do this, turn the LL (line lock) to the ON position.

Q: What are the VD and DD dipswitch settings on an EQ series camera?
A: VD stands for Video Drive and it is a setting for manual lens. DD stands for Direct Drive and it is a setting for a DC lens which has an automatic iris.
